Ems Continue Win Streak

After the All-Star break the Eugene Emeralds picked up where they left off.  The Ems were on a 4 game win streak before the break and met with the Boise Hawks last night for game 4 of their 6 game series with the Hawks. The Ems racked up runs right out of the gate with a 4 run first inning that set the Hawks on their heels.  In the top of the second, centerfielder, Fernando Kelli hit a solo home run with 2 outs to make it a 5 – nothing lead.  The Hawks got on the board in the bottom of the second inning with one run, but Eugene added 3 more in the third to take an 8-1 lead.  Both teams shared homers in the 7th and Boise first baseman Michael Toglia hit his second homer of the night in the bottom of the ninth with no outs and no one on base, but that was it for Boise and the final score was 9-3 Eugene.
