Rannow Hopes to Qualify; AP Ranks Ducks 11th; Ems Let Spokane By

Rannow Hopes to Qualify

Florence golfer Bob Rannow will hit the links today to try and qualify for this weekend’s Boeing Classic.  Rannow advanced to today’s qualifier by hitting a 3 under par 68 last week.  Rannow is hoping to make the cut today to make it to this weekends tournament.  Today’s match is set for the High Cedar Golf Course in Washington state.

AP Ranks Ducks 11th

The Oregon Ducks are ranked 11th as the preliminary top 25 was released by the Associated Press yesterday.  The Ducks ranking is the highest since the 2015 season.  The Ducks will face a ranked opponent for the first time since 2011 as they open the season against Auburn which is ranked 16th.  Kickoff for the game is set for 4:30, Saturday the 31st of August.

Ems Let Spokane By

The Eugene Emeralds led the Spokane Indians 4 to 2 after 8 ½ innings, but a late rally by Spokane tied the game in the bottom of the ninth to take the game to extra innings.  The Ems failed to capitalize in the top of the 10th as minor league rules begins extra innings with a runner in scoring position.  Spokane scored in the bottom of the 10th for the win 5-4
