Ems Finish with Back-to-Back Wins; Ducks Had Their Chances

Ems Finish with Back-to-Back Wins

The Eugene Emeralds ended their season with back to back wins.  Their final game last night was at Volcano stadium in Kaiser.  The game was knotted up at nothing-nothing until the Ems charged ahead with a 3 run fifth inning and added two more in the sixth.  The Volcanoes answered in the bottom of the sixth with one run and Eugene added a sixth run in the seventh for a 6-1 win.  The Ems finished their season with a 33-43 record and were eliminated from the playoffs last week.

Ducks Had Their Chances

Mario Cristobal said opportunities were plenty and the Ducks had their chances to win, but didn’t finish the game.  The Ducks Head Coach spoke out about Saturday’s loss to Auburn saying the Ducks played hard, but a few first half turnovers and second half breakdowns allowed for the Tigers to score the final 21 points of the game, taking home the victory.
