Lady Vikings Sweep Pleasant Hill

The Lady Vikings visited Pleasant Hill last night and it was anything but pleasant for the Billies.  The Vikings took the match in three straight sets, but coach Jonathan Hornung said is was tenuous at the start.

“It started out kind of shaky.  It was really hot in Eugene so I don’t know if that kind of took a toll on us.”

The lead changed back and forth in that first set with the Vikings squeaking by 25-23.  Hornung says they started to find their footing in the second set with big hits by Mia Collins and Kya Blake and went on an 8-0 run with freshman Desi Tupua serving.  He said they were constantly adjusting their defense to account for Pleasant Hills style of attack.  In the third set Collins play at times staggered the Billies defense.

202:”Mia started swinging big, had some huge hits in set number 3 that, I think, were a little bit demoralizing to the other team.”

Hayden Muller added 11 digs in the Viking sweep.
