Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News, and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Sophomore Siuslaw Viking football player, Camp LaCouture as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Camp had a break-out performance in Saturday’s win over McLoughlin, rushing for 251 yards on 21 carries with 4 Touchdowns. He reached the top 10, All-Time, for single-game efforts with Saturday night’s performance.
Honorable Mention goes to Mapleton sophomore Phillip Burnett who had 10 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 fumble recovery in the Sailors blowout win against Elkton.
Sports Schedule:
The Lady Viks are at home hosting the Elmira Falcons in Sky-Em volleyball at Siuslaw High School. Games get underway at 6:30.
In the Mountain West League Mapleton is on the road to Marcola to take on the Mohawk Mustangs at 6 o’clock.
Sky-Em League soccer action this afternoon in Cottage Grove pits the Vikings against the Lions at 4:30.
