Vikings Over Billies

The Siuslaw Vikings continue to impress on the gridiron.  Friday night the Vikings defeated the Billies of Pleasant Hill.  The Vikings went into half-time with a 29-8 lead.  They added two more touchdowns and a safety for a 44-15 win.  The Vikings prepare for homecoming this week when they host La Pine.  Siuslaw is 5-2 for the season and 2-1 in league play.

Cross Country Girls Win

Viking cross country was at the Warner Pacific Classic over the weekend.  The Lady Vikings came out with a win in the Varsity Silver outrunning their closest opponent by 32 points.  Senior Hannah Rannow continues to impress with a 4th place finish four other Siuslaw runners finished in the top 30 out of 163 runners.  The Viking boys finished in 6th place.  Brendon Jensen was the top Viking in 21st place.

Viking Volleyball Hosts Junction City

Viking volleyball still has a shot at a play in after being defeated by Marshfield on Saturday in the championship round for the Marshfield Invitational. 28-17, 28-18.  The regular season wraps up tomorrow at home against Junction City.

Lowell Stops Mapleton

Mapleton Sailors did not get to finish their season undefeated.  Lowell surprised the Sailors putting up 62 points on the board to Mapleton’s 28.  This Friday the sailors take on North Douglas for the number 2 seed.  A win will secure another home game against Siletz Valley a loss will put them on the road to Perrydale for district playoffs.

Mapleton Volleyball

Mapleton Volley ball over the weekend was defeated by Mohawk and Triangle Lake in straight sets. Mapleton finishes its season 1-15.

Beavers Take Down Cal

The Beavers led 14-3 in the first half against Cal on Saturday, but two touchdowns in the 3rd quarter put Cal back on top.  The beaver put together a 12 play, 80 yard drive in the fourth to regain the lead and beat Cal 21-17.

Ducks Come From Behind

The Oregon Ducks had a come from behind game against the Washington Huskies on Saturday.  They were behind 31-28 in the fourth quarter when Justin Herbert led the team  on a 70 yard drive culminating in a 5-yard touchdown pass to Jaylon Redd.  Final score 35-31
