Basketball Season Opens
The Siuslaw Vikings opened their basketball season last night against the Newport Cubs. The Ladies were up first with their new head Coach Ashley Cole. Gracie Freudenthal led the girls with 12. The Cubs won out over the Vikings 51-37. The boys then took the court with Braydon Thornton leading with 21 points, Jacob Foskett added 8 but the Cubs beat out the Vikings 68-48. Siuslaw travels to Pleasant Hill tomorrow.
Mapleton faced Lowell last night with Lowell coming out on top 49-32 in the boys match. The girls were outgunned by Lowell 59-19
Mapleton travels to Elkton on Tuesday.
Viking Wrestling
Viking Wrestling gets underway tomorrow. The Vikings travel to Harrisburg for the Devon Dawson Wrestling Classic.
