Viking Baskteball
The Siuslaw Vikings boys basketball team were involved in a fast pace game last night at home against Elmira. The Viks had 27 points on 3 pointers alone and had 4 scorers in double figures as they toppled the Falcons 62-54. Brody Terry led the way with 15, Liam McClellan added 14 and Braydon Thornton and Avery Hart each added 12. Thornton also had 6 steals.
The Viking girls had a chance to tie the Falcons with 12 seconds left on the clock but a turnover cost them the opportunity. Gracie Freudenthal led the Viks with 10 in the 35-31 loss.
Mapleton Basketball
The Mapleton Sailor boys basketball team visited Triangle Lake last night and dominated the Lakers holding them to just 5 points in the first half. Justyce Wierichs led the team with 18, Nate Neece added 12 and AJ Moso added 11 in the 52-25 win. The Sailor Girls struggled against the Lakers in their game falling 46-17.
