Sailors Win
The Mapleton Sailors were at Crow last night for Mountain West League basketball. The Sailor boys were victorious 52-37 bringing them to 10-8 on the season and 7-4 in league play. Justyce Wierichs led the Sailors with 19 and JJ Neece followed with 16. The Sailor Girls were also out in front of Crow defeating the Cougars 40-21. Heather Wierichs led the girls with 11. The girls are 4-7 in league play.
Vikings Split at Home
The Siuslaw Vikings were also on the court last night at Glen Butler court taking on Cottage Grove. The girls were up first where they were fairly competitive in the first half, but fell flat in the second scoring only 4 points in the 45-25 loss.
The story was different for the Viking boys as they had great patience on offense and held the Lions to 36 points. Braydon Thornton had 10 points for the Vikings as did Liam McMlellan, Avery Hart added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the 50-36 win. Siuslaw is 3-3 in league play.
