Siuslaw Basketball
Last night in Marshfield the Siuslaw Vikings fought hard to keep their playoff hopes alive. Down 9 at the half the Viking boys kept is close in the second half with Brody Terry putting in 20 for the Viks, but in the end Siuslaw fell to Marshfield 55-50.
The girls also battled hard against the Pirates. Gracie Freudenthal had 11 points and 20 rebounds and Brea Blankenship contributed 12 points in a hard fought battle that saw the Lady Pirates come out on top 39-34
Mapleton Basketball
Mapleton hosted Alsea last night in league play. The Sailor Girls powered past the Wolverines. Briena Jensen had 11 points and Heather Wierichs added 10 in the 40-27 win. The lady sailors have won 4 straight with only Siletz Valley left on the Schedule.
The Sailor boys moved into third place last night as they defeated the Wolverines 59-24. JJ Neece wowed the crowd with 20 points and 2 dunks. Justyce Wierichs added 17 and AJ Moso put in 12.
