Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congraulate Elijah LaCosse as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Elijah finished the State Wrestling Championship in third place. After losing in the first round he went on to score 5 consecutive pins including a rematch against his first round opponent. He was one of only two wrestlers in the tournament to do that and scored 23 points in the 138 pound weight bracket.
Honorable mention goes to another Viking Wrestler, Hayden Muller who placed 4th in the 135 pound girls division.
All League Honors
All League notifications for Sky-Em Girls Basketball went out and several Siuslaw students were on the list. Mia Collins made the Second Team and honorable mentions went out to Brea Blankenship and Gracie Freudenthal. Brea was also named to the All Defensive Team.
The All League Boys notifications include Braydon Thornton for First Team All-League with Brody Terry and Liam McClellan as honorable mention.
