Pritchard Garners Point Guard Award
Senior Point Guard for the Oregon Ducks, Payton Pritchard was awarded the 2020 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year award by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Pritchard is the first Duck to win the award and only the second PAC-12 player in the awards history. Pritchard heaped some of the praise on his teammates by saying that you don’t win awards like this without winning and winning takes a team effort. Pritchard was one of just 3 players nationally to average 20 points, four rebounds and five assists per game. Pricthard also led the PAC-12 in both scoring and assists. Pritchard also leveled some praise on his female counterpart, Duck point guard Sabrina Ionescu, saying that her greatness has just begun.
