Ems Unsure About Season

After a year that saw attendance records shattered, the Eugene Emeralds season, along with Major League Baseball, is in limbo.  With minor league clubs shuttering offices to comply with coronavirus restrictions, there is little information coming from the clubs and no word on the possibility of opening the season.  The Ems are part of a short season league and have a limited time to put players on the field.  The Northwest League’s season is set to begin on June 17th in Vancouver, but that is not likely to happen without some extreme conditions being met.  Teams like the Emeralds have about three months to generate revenue and recoup money that they have spent in the off-season.
