City Opens Most Park Facilities; Still A Wait and See

City Opens Most Park Facilities

It was a happy day for parents and little athletes yesterday as the Florence Littlefoots youth baseball team met at Miller Park.  It was their first time to practice since the coronavirus pandemic shut down all sporting activities.  Yesterday the city of Florence opened playground areas around the city, with the exception of basketball courts.  The city will be maintaining a twice a day cleaning regimen for the foreseeable future.

Still A Wait and See

It will likely be mid August before we know for sure what the fall sports schedule will look like.  Siuslaw Schools have to submit a plan to the governor’s office to be reviewed before moving forward.  It is still possible that practices could start up in the month of July, but that will depend on many factors including what the coronavirus does over the next several weeks.
