Athlete Test Negative
Test results are back on the student athlete that was experiencing flu-like symptoms over the weekend. The announcement of the students ailment shut down practice for the week out of an abundance of precaution. Siuslaw superintendent Andy Grzeskowiak said the tests were negative. This does not mean however that practice will resume. The new guidelines set forth by Governor Brown will have to be investigated as to how practices can proceed. The schools are under a more stringent guideline than the general public. Coaches and staff are set to meet today to go over the guidelines and formulate a plan to continue. Head football coach Sam Johnson was hopeful that practice could resume by Thursday, but the possibility of returning by Monday is not a surety at this point. Johnson said they are doing there best to insure the students safety which is their primary concern.
