USDA Closes Siuslaw National Forest Recreation

USDA Closes Siuslaw National Forest Recreation

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued a closure notice for all parts of the Siuslaw National Forest including the recreational dunes until at least the 24th of September.  The order reads: Due to significant public safety concerns associated with wind storm damage, extremely high fire danger, and firefighting limited capacity the Siuslaw National Forest is temporarily closing public access. This closure covers all National Forest forested, coastal, and sand areas and includes the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, Sand Lake, developed campgrounds, dispersed camping, day use areas, wilderness areas, and all forest roads and trails. We will continue to re-evaluate the closure as conditions change and we’re able to safely address storm damage. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.  More information can be found at go.usa.gov.
