Agreements Needed For Winter Sports; Ducks Ready

Agreements Needed For Winter Sports

Athletic Directors for the Sky-Em League are working out how to move forward with indoor sports like volleyball and basketball.  Siuslaw School superintendent, Andy Grzeskowiak says concerns over attendance and travel are being ironed out so that all schools in the league operate under the same rules.  Issues of limited attendance and social distancing are a concern with indoor sports.  Grzeskowiak says it would be difficult if schools did not work together, if a visiting team came to an event where the total in attendance was greater than restrictions allowed, the visiting team would have to get back on the bus and return home.  He feels confident though that agreements will be made to prevent such an occurrence.  The Sky-Em league hopes to be back on court by late December.

Ducks Ready

Ducks Head Football Coach Mario Cristobal says he believes the team is gelling and ready for the first game of the season on Saturday.  Yesterday the team had their second straight day in full pads.  He said today is a mental day as they prepare a walkthrough of the game plan.  Tomorrow Cristobal says will be intense for the team as they speed up play in their “Fast Friday” mode.  The Ducks meet Stanford on Saturday with live coverage on KCST at 3:00 pm.

The Beavers also begin their season Saturday. Their game will be broadcast on KCFM beginning 6:30.
