Sports On…For Now
The upcoming sports season is still planned to start despite the current restrictions in place. Siuslaw Basketball for both the boys and girls has scheduled its first game for January 11th against Bandon. Volleyball and soccer will have to wait until March. Football will also have to wait until March, but Coach Sam Johnson says whenever the season comes the team will be ready.
“All we need is 9 practices and we will have everything ever need implemented.”
Johnson says he looks at it like this is May and they are still 3 months out and he is not concerned if they don’t get on the field.
“We’re comfortable not doing anything right now.”
Changes and adjustments are still expected over the course of the next 3 months as the state struggles to get the coronavirus under control.
Game Changes
This Friday was to be the week for college football in Oregon, but the Ducks and the Beavers will play instead on Saturday. The Oregon Ducks will host UCLA with the time yet to be determined. The OSU Beavers will host Cal with a pregame beginning at 11:30 on KCFM.
