Viks Don Helmets; Ducks Win on Defense; Beavers Pull Away From Utes

Siuslaw football was on the field yesterday practicing with helmets.  A sign that the school was able to jump through the last hurdle of having onsite COVID-19 testing.  Some Oregon teams have scheduled a jamboree prior to the season schedule, Siuslaw has not yet posted one, but Siuslaw High athletic Director Chris Johnson said they are hopeful that one can be added prior to the first game on March 5th.

Ducks Win on Defense

It was a defensive battle on the court for the Oregon Ducks last night at Matthew Knight Arena.  Poor shooting from both the Ducks and the Buffaloes was the result.  The teams battled back and for the with the game tying 4 different times.  it was a slightly better field goal percentage that allowed the Ducks to take the win 60-56.  Chris Duarte led the Ducks with 18. The ducks play Utah next tomorrow with a 5:30 pregame on KCST.

Beavers Pull Away From Utes

The Oregon State Beavers held the Utah Utes back as they pulled away in the second half.  Earlier in the game it was a battle that saw 6 lead changes, but the Beavers held the Utes off capitalizing on missed shot and 10 turnovers late in the game.  Ethan Thompson scored 25 for the Beavs in the 74-56 win.  Beavers play tomorrow at 5 pm against Colorado with a 4:30 pregame on KCFM.
