Beavers Knock Ducks From Tourney

The Oregon State Beaver Women’s Basketball team defeated the University of Oregon Women yesterday in the Pac-12 tournament.  The Beavers handed the Ducks their second defeat in a row as they came back from an early deficit.  The Duck’s Taylor Mikesell and Nyara Sabally combined for 40 points in the loss.    Beaver Freshman Guard Talia Von Oelhoffen led the Beavers off the bench with 19 points in the win.  The Beavers will not face…

Cross Country Winners

Viking Cross Country dominated the course yesterday taking first place in both the boys and girls division.  The meet was at the Florence Golf Links yesterday and Sam Ulrich and Chad Hughes took second and third place respectively with 3 other Vikings in the top ten.  For the girls it was Brea Blankenship in the second place spot with Rylee Colton less than a second behind her for the third place spot.

Soccer

It was opening day for Siuslaw Viking soccer.  The Marshfield Pirates blanked the Vikings in their season opener 4-0.

Viking Football

It is opening day for Siuslaw Viking football as the viks head to La Pine to face the Hawks.  Bob Sneddon and Randy Paredes will bring the action.  Head Coach Sam Johnson says the team and the coaches have been looking forward to this day and face a formidable opponent:

“They’ve got a lot of weapons, and they’re a great football team so we lot, a lot to prepare for and worry about.”

The game will begin at 7 pm, KCST will be live at 6:45;

Rivalry Sunday

Sunday the Oregon State Beavers will try to be the spoilers and keep the University of Oregon from taking the top spot in the Pac-12, but the Ducks have been hot at late and will likely be ready for the challenge.  The Beavers will have home court advantage.  The pregame on both KCST and KCFM will be at 4:30 Sunday afternoon.
