Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior Siuslaw Softball player Bailey Overton as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Bailey hit an unprecedented 4 home runs in four consecutive at bats in Saturday’s double header against Junction City and had 5 putouts and one assist all in game two. And she had a triple and a double and scored a run in the first game.
Honorable mention goes to Sam Ulrich for his first place finishes in both the 800 and 1500 meter races at this past weekend’s Sky-EM Championships.
Basketball
This evening the Siuslaw Vikings will begin their season of basketball against Pleasant Hill at home the game will be broadcast on KCST beginning at 5:45 this evening with a 6 pm tip off. The girls game against Pleasant Hill has been cancelled.
