4A Track and Field Championships

This weekend’s 4A State Championships were held at Hans Petersen Field and the Siuslaw Vikings girls came in second place and the boys finished 6th overall.  But taking the top spot in the state in the 800 meters for the girls was Brea Blankenship with a season record best time of 2:24.36.  Brea has been dominant in the 800 meter all season and coach Chris Johnson believed in mid season that she could finish the season as the 4A Champion.  Other notables were Gracie Freudenthal finishing second in the 100 meter hurdles and Sam Ulrich finishing second in the state in the boy’s 800 meter race.  Andrea Osbon finished 2nd in the state for the shot put.  The girls 4×400 team placed third and the boys 4×400 finished in 4th place.

Viking Basketball

Siuslaw Viking basketball was victorious over north bend on Friday in North Bend.  The Vikings won 64-48.  Braydon Thornton led the Vikings with 18 and Brody Terry followed with 17 Liam Mcclellan was also in double figures with 11

College Baseball

The Oregon State Beavers led 5 -1 until the Arizona Wildcats ;got into the game in the 8 th inning scoring 4 and tying the game.  The wildcats scored once more in the 9th to take it 6-5.

 

The Oregon Ducks Dropped 2 of 3 to Stanford over the weekend losing last night in the tie breaker 8-5.
