Ulrich Racalls Ultra Run Win

She says it was a grueling two days in the most extreme heat she has witnessed but ultra distance runner Lindsey McElroy Ulrich said when she makes a commitment to finish something, she does.  Ulrich said more than half of the field had dropped from the 100 mile Scout Mountain race over the weekend.  The 42 year old Ulrich was the first woman to cross the finish line and was 16th overall.  She said she kept telling herself that she was going to finish as she described the final mile as the longest mile in her life.  Ulrich’s closest competitor was more than an hour behind her as she crossed the finish line.  She also said that while her run last year on the Pacific Crest Trail was the longest, this race was more intense.

Sick Vikings Effect Outcome

The Viking Boys were at Marshfield last night and had a rough outing.  Several of Siuslaw’s  starting players were out sick and Avery Hart left the game due to an injury in the second half.  The Vikings only managed  3 points in the second half as the Pirates took advantage of the shortened roster winning 61-24  siuslaw is now 3-4 in league play and 6-4 overall.

The lady Pirates also defeated the Vikings.

Mapleton Over Eddyville

The Mapleton Boys were at home against Eddyville last night.  Coach Eric Wolgamatt said it was a balanced scoring effort for the Sailors who handily defeated  the eagles 60-33.  JJ Neece led the charge with 20, AJ Moso added 14, and joe Shepard contributed 12 in the win.

Sailor Girls Lose to Eddyville

The Sailor Girls were just 4 points behind Eddyville at the half with another solid effort by junior Opal Burruss.  Burruss scored 16 on the night, but the second half proved tough for the Sailors scoring only 12 more points in the second half as the Eagles pulled away.  Final score 61-35 Eddyville.
