Game Moves to Siuslaw Middle School Gym

The Siuslaw Vikings will be on the home court this evening against the winless Elmira.  The game will, however, be moved to the Siuslaw Middle School Gym.  It is unclear if the team will be at full strength after the illness of several players made a win on Tuesday near impossible.  The girls game will be played first at 5:45 followed by the boy’s game.  Coverage will begin on KCST at 5:30.  The girls are 1-6 on the season with their only win at Elmira.

Sailors on the Road

The Mapleton Sailors will be on the road to Yoncalla for a non-league game this evening.  The Sailor boys have been struggling of late losing 3 of their last 4 games, but hope to get back to their winning ways against the 1-3 Eagles.  The Sailor girls are also scheduled to play this evening.

Viking Wrestling

Viking wrestlers were on the mat on Tuesday where they won 9 of 11 matches.  Elijah LaCosse defeated the regional champion Eli Howard of Stayton and Christian Newlan defeated Johnny Sylva 7-2.  It was senior night for the Vikings and Michael Schick, Elijah LaCosse, Ryan Jennings and Christian Newlan were all recognized.  Coach Neil Wartnik says the team was a little short handed because of a COVID quarantine.  There were no matches for the girls.
