Muller Places 4th; Canadians Beat Ems

Muller Places 4th

Siuslaw Viking wrestler Hayden Muller was seeded 6th  in the state as she entered competition at the OSAA Girls State Championship yesterday in Cottage Grove.  Hayden went 2 and 2 on the mat.  Coach Neil Wartnik said Muller’s final match was exciting to watch even though it ended in a pin for her challenger at 3:53 seconds.  Muller ended up with a 4th place finish in the state.

Today and tomorrow the Viking Boys will be on the mat in Turner.  Competition begins at 11 am today and continues at 11 am tomorrow.

Canadians Beat Ems

The Vancouver Canadians rallied in the 7th inning last night in Eugene to take a 12 -5 lead over the hosting Ems.  They added one more in the top of the 8th before the Ems began a rally in the bottom of the inning.  The Ems batted in 4 runners before ending the inning but that was all they could muster losing 13-9.  The Ems play again this evening at 7:05
