Hops Hold Off Eugene
The Eugene Emeralds fell to 38 and 28 after a double and a two run homer by the Hillsboro Hops put them on their heels. The Hops managed 3 runs in 5th inning and waited out the Ems who were inches away from tying the game in the bottom of the 9th inning. Tyler Fitzgerald hit a ground ball single that got into left field scoring Armani Smith. First baseman Sean Roby tried to make it from second base but was thrown out at the plate for the third and final out. Final score 3-2 Hops. The series continues this evening from PK Park at 7:05.
