Ems Gain Ground on Aquasox
The Eugene Emeralds gained another game on the High A West League leader, the Everett Aquasox. Last night in Hillsboro the Ems came from behind after the Hops took a one run lead early in the game. The Ems scored 3 runs in the top of the 6th to take a two run lead, but the Hops answered back in the bottom of the inning tying it up at 3. In the top of the 8th inning Ems 3rd baseman Sean Roby hit a solo home run to give the Ems the edge. It was Roby’s 5th homer in the month of August. The Ems are now just 3 games behind the Aquasox and begin a seven game series with them starting tomorrow at PK Park.
