Mid-day COVID-19 Update: Lane County
6 more cases of COVID-19 were reported by Lane County Public health this morning bringing the all time total of cases to 432 and more importantly 78 new cases over the past two weeks. Cases are predominately among the unvaccinated with an approximate 96%. Lane County continues to be the largest contributor to the overall state count with 837 cases reported since Friday’s numbers. This evening’s update from the Oregon Health Authority will likely see the Lane County number increase somewhat as the tallies are from an ongoing daily count. Current infection rates are at 421.4 per 100,000 individuals the highest at any time during the pandemic. The daily average of cases for Lane County is 230. The state is reporting an increase in vaccinations with an average of 7,200 shots administered daily.
