Season Opener on the Road; Ems Still Tied Atop the League

Season Opener on the Road

Opening day for Siuslaw Football will be an away game at Brookings Harbor.  Due to the cancellation of the opening day game the Vikings will only have two home games for the season: La Pine and Pleasant hill.  Coach Sam Johnson says the school is looking to replace the cancelled South Umpqua game with another game in week 5 of the season which was to be an off week for the team.

Ems Still Tied Atop the League

A pair of losses by the two league leading teams in the High A West League leaves the Eugene Emeralds and the Everett Aquasox tied.  Last night the Tri-City Dust Devils were down 2-0 to the Ems in the bottom of the 7th inning when a dribbler to 3rd baseman Sean Roby resulted in an out at first rather than trying to put  out the Dust Devils Jordyn Adams who was racing home.  The next batter, Francisco Del Valle hit a two run homer giving the Dust Devils the lead.  The Ems were unable to score and the game ended 3-2 for Tri-City.
