School Board Resignation

Another School Board Member has resigned his post.  Dennis King held position 5 on the Siuslaw School District Board.  King’s term was slated to expire in June of 2023.  No immediate reasons were given for his resignation, but King had not been attending the in-person meetings.  The School board will officially accept the resignation at their next regular board meeting on November 10th.  In a special meeting scheduled for Tuesday the 26th the school board will meet with candidates for the other empty seat, position 1.  There are currently 8 candidates that have applied for the position.  It is also possible that the board could select a replacement for position 5 at this time.  In the event that an individual is selected it will be approved also at the November 10th regular meeting.  The board can also choose to re-open the application process for position 5.
