Beavers and Demon Deacons; Vikings Ready For Championship

Beavers and Demon Deacons

The Oregon State Beavers are in Niceville Florida for a pair of games that begins tonight against the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest.  Wake Forest has opened their season 5-0 while the Beavers are struggling after losing 4 straight.  the game will be broadcast on KCFM this evening beginning at 6pm. The Beavers will face either Penn State or LSU on Saturday, but that game will not be aired due to the DUCK/BEAVER rivalry football game.  That game will be on KCFM beginning at 11:30 and will begin in progress on KCST following the Viking/Lancer State Championship game tomorrow beginning at 10:30 on KCST.

Vikings Ready For Championship

Tomorrow’s Championship game was supposed to be a rematch of the Viking’s season opener, but a COVID-19 diagnosis caused the cancellation of that game.  Now at 11-0 coach Sam Johnson is not predicting a win against a very fast/mobile team, but he is saying that the team has a focus that will not easily be broken.

“I mean I have said it all year these kids are not willing to lose a game.  They’re willing to do whatever it takes to figure out a way to win every single game we’re in.”

The Vikings will have to be patient after last week’s tightly called game by the referees.  Johnson says they are prepared for that possibility again, but will also play with reckless abandon if the refs let them.
