Athlete of the Week: Brody Terry

The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate senior Siuslaw basketball player Brody Terry as this week’s Athlete of the Week.  Terry led the team in the two opening games this past week scoring 15 against Bandon in the 55-47 win and 18 against Newport for a 60-43 victory helping the Vikings to a 2-0 start of the season.

Honorable mention goes to Viking Wrestler Mason Buss who took first place in the Perry Burlison Tournament at cascade High School last week.  Buss defeated three opponents by fall on his way to the win.

Bull Dogs Dog Vikings

Last night the Vikings had a rough time against the North Bend Bull Dogs.  The 5A Bull Dogs controlled the tempo of the game getting out in front of the Vikings and the North Bend Defense held the Vikings to just 35 points.  Final score 47-35.

The Viking Girls dropped their third straight to North Bend 46-14.

Ducks Name Interim for Alamo Bowl

The Oregon Ducks have named Bryan McClendon as their interim football coach as the news hit that Mario Cristobal has accepted the head coaching job at his alma mater Florida.  McClendon is in his second year with the Ducks and will coach them in the upcoming Valero Alamo bowl on December 29th
