Viking Basketball
Over the weekend the Lady Vikings basketball participated in the Harrisburg Booster Club Tournament. The team was defeated by Monroe on Friday 56-19. In the consolation game on Saturday Blanchet Catholic won 34-16. The Siuslaw boys withdrew from the tournament with not enough players due to illness.
Mapleton Basketball
The Mapleton Girls basketball got their first win of the season on Saturday in the consolation game against Riddle. Senior Jahala Blake led the sailors in the 27-20 victory with 11 points. Senior Brier Shird had 6.
The Sailor boys dropped two over the weekend at the Cow Creek Classic losing on Friday to Glendale 41-20 and to Umpqua Valley Christian on Saturday 60 -29.
Siuslaw Wrestling
Siuslaw’s grapplers were on the mat over the weekend. The boys team placed 18th overall while the girls placed 4th. three Viking girls took second place, senior’s Bailey Overton and Hayden Muller and sophomore Makayla Freeman. For the boys Mason Buss took third place winning 5 of 6 matches.
Stanford Drop Ducks
The Oregon Ducks fall to 5-5 on the season as they continue to struggle. The Ducks were at Stanford last night to take on the cardinal. Junior forward Quincy Guerrier led the team with 18 in the 72-69 loss.
