Sailor Girls Win
The Mapleton Sailor Girls were victorious yesterday at the Bandon Dunes Invitational. They defeated Alsea 41-17. Senior Opal Burrus led the Sailors with 13.
Hoops on Hiatus
College hoops are on hiatus for the Christmas break. The Ducks and the beavers will be back on the court next week. The Beavers will be hosting Sacramento State on Tuesday for a makeup game and the Ducks will be back on Thursday the 30th for a home game against Colorado.
Recreation Report
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife released its year end recreation report. ODFW reports that steelhead fishing is picking up and anglers should soon be seeing increased activity along the Siuslaw River. The current report lists the Alsea as the best place to score steelhead.
