Wrestling

Viking Wrestlers were on the mat last night against the Stayton Eagles.  The Eagles outscored the Vikings, but several Vikings had success in their matches including Jesus Garcia who defeated Lyric Burroughs in the 170 pound weight class and Mason Buss Defeated Conner Hollenback in the 182 class.  Cort Waggoner defeated Owen Platt in the 220 class.

Sailor Basketball

The Mapleton Sailor boys defeated the Crow Cougars last night in a come from behind victory.  Crow’s lead was 10 early in the second half, but tough defense and good shooting brought the Sailors back into the game.  Senior Joe Shepard led the Sailors with 22.  He also added 9 for 11 from the free throw line.  Sophomore Keevyn Walker had two big three pointers late in the game to cut the lead.  Sophomore Brian Burnett had his best game of the season adding 11 points with 3 shots from the three point range.  Final 50-45.

The Sailor ladies fell short of evening up their league season in a 31-24 loss to the cougars last night.

Ducks over Buffalo

The Oregon Ducks found a way to beat Colorado in Boulder.  Jacob young led the charge for the Ducks with 21 points in the 66-51 victory.  The Ducks improve to 14-7 and are 7-3 in Pac-12 play.  Utah outplayed the Beavers last night in Salt Lake city 84-59

Viking Ladies Basketball

The Siuslaw Viking Ladies will be on the court tonight against Marist at Glen Butler Court.  The ladies are still looking for their first win of the season.  The game will be broadcast on KCST beginning at 5:30.  Viking boys games have been suspended due to covid-19 protocols.
