Lady Vikings Basketball

The Siuslaw Lady Vikings were up against Elmira on Friday.  Elmira outgunned the Vikings 48-12.  Cate Waggoner scored a third of the Viking’s points and they were all from the free throw line as she hit 4 for 4 on the night.  The Vikings held Elmira to just 19 in the first half.  Other scorers for the Viks were Gracie Perkins, Rhianna Lane, Jolee Erickson and Haylee Cole.

Viking Men’s Basketball

The  Viking men were on the court Saturday against Junction City.  The Vikings scored 36 to Junction City’s 75.  The Vikings will be on the court this evening against Elmira and are currently scheduled to have a game every night this week.

The Viking ladies will be at home against Junction City tomorrow night.

Mapleton Sailors

The Mapleton Sailor boys will have a playoff this evening against Eddyville at 6pm

The Mapleton Sailors ladies will have a playoff game tomorrow evening at home against Alsea, that game will be broadcast on KCST beginning at 5:45, the broadcast will then turn to Siuslaw for the Viking boys at 7:15.

Wrestling

5 Siuslaw Vikings have qualified for the state championships in wrestling.  Dayne Muller, Yoskar De la Mora, Joel Sissel, Mason Buss and Cort Waggoner will represent the Vikings.  All finished in the top 4 of their weight class with Dayne Muller taking the top spot in the 195 weight class.

College Hoops

The Oregon ducks couldn’t make it 5 in a row as they fell on Saturday to the Cal Bears. 78-64.  They play again this evening against Washington State beginning at 5:30 on KCST.  The Duck game will preempt Viking Hour.

 

The Cardinal defeated the Beavers on Saturday76-65.  Next up for the Beavers is Colorado tomorrow evening on KCFM with a 5:30 pregame.
