Beaver Baseball; Duck Baseball; Siuslaw Vikings; Ducks NIT

Beaver Baseball

The Oregon State Beavers took the first two games of the series against Washington State this weekend, but lost a tight battle on Sunday.  After outings of 13-3 and 5-1 the Beavers fell to the Cougars 9-8 on Sunday.  The Beavers led 8-7 after 8 ½ innings in the bottom of the ninth Beaver’s pitcher Mitchell Verburg hit two batters to give the cougars a chance to score a single by Collin Montez allowed the tying run to cross the plate.  A second single by Bryce Matthews drove in the winning run.  The Beavers will next face Grand Canyon University tomorrow.

Duck Baseball

The Oregon Ducks took two of three from the #2 ranked Stanford Cardinal.  The Ducks were victorious on Friday and Saturday with  4-3, 16-13 wins.  Yesterday in Stanford the Cardinal put up a 4 run second inning to take a 5 -1 lead holding off the Ducks 10-6.

Siuslaw Vikings

The Siuslaw Vikings are scheduled to be on the field tomorrow to start the baseball and softball season.  The teams will travel to Sutherlin.  Coast Radio will cover the second game of the Baseball double header beginning at 4:15 weather permitting.

Ducks NIT

The Oregon Ducks are in the NIT.  They are scheduled to meet Utah State University from Logan Utah tomorrow evening at 6:00 pm.
