Viking Baseball

After a 9-2 loss on Friday against Mazama the Siuslaw Vikings regrouped in Klamath Falls against Klamath Union.  The Vikings topped the Pelicans 13-3 in the first game of the double header and started the second game taking advantage of some bad pitching with the first run coming on a passed ball.  The Vikings then rolled to a 22-0 win with the game ending after 5 innings.  While the Vikings first two wins were against a 3A team, Mazama and Klamath Union are 4A teams.  Last season the Vikings won only one game all season making the 4-1 start a sign of better things to come.

Viking Softball

Viking Softball was at South Umpqua on Friday the Varsity girls were scoreless as South Umpqua shut out their 4th team in a row to start their season.

Ducks Bow Out of NIT

The Oregon Ducks fell to the Number 1 seed at the NIT on Saturday.  The ducks led briefly in the opening minutes of the game but the Aggies retrieved the lead and held on to the end.  The Ducks trailed by as many as 18.  Final score 75-60.

Duck Baseball

The Oregon Duck baseball team disposed of Utah over the weekend sweeping the 3 game series from the Utes.  The ducks finished the series with a 7-2 win on Sunday.

Beaver Baseball

The Oregon State Beavers went 2-1 against the Arizona State SunDevils.  After handily defeating ASU on Friday and Saturday 21-0 and 12-2 the beavers took a 1-0 lead into the top of the ninth when the SunDevils capitalized on a late change in pitching to score 3 runs and held OSU scoreless in the bottom of the ninth.  Final 3-1.
