Viking Baseball

The Siuslaw Vikings on Friday faced Pleasant Hill in a double header at home.  The Vikings let a 5 run 4th inning by the Billies set the tone for the game the Vikings came back with 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th to keep the game close but the Billies kept the pressure on with 3 more runs in the fifth.  The Vikings matched that with 3 in the bottom of the fifth.  The Billies would score one more in the 6th making is a 12 -8 game.  The bottom of the 7th the Vikings would score one run.  Final 12-9.

In game two of the double header the Billies led 6-1 after 4 innings.  The Vikings rallied in the bottom of the 4th to come within one but due to the length of game one the game was called short as night approached.  Final 6-5.

Viking Softball

Viking Softball was also on the field against Pleasant Hill.  The Billies took two games from the Vikings at home 16-5 and 16-0.

Viking Track and Field

Viking track and field took part in the Marist Invite on Saturday.  Hunter Petterson finish in second place in the 100 meter race with a time of 11.76.  Petterson and freshman Wesley Nicholls finished 3rd and 4th respectively in the 200 meters.  In the 400 meters senior James Smith placed 5th.   Junior Sam Ulrich finished first in the 800 meters for Siuslaw. And senior Chad Hughes finished first in the 1500 and 3000 meter races.  The 4×400 team finished in third.

In field events junior Jonathan Rose finished third in the shot put registering a personal record of 41’5.5”.  rose also finished 4th in the discus. Rhys Fleming finished 3rd in the javelin with a toss of 146’1’.  Camp Lacouture finished 4th in the Long Jump 19’4”

 

For the Ladies, Rylee Colton finshed third in the 1500 meters.  In the 3000 sophomore Macy McNeill finished third.

Mapleton Track and Field

Mapleton track and field competed in McKenzie on Saturday.  Emily Neece finished first in the shotput with a distance of 28’10.25”  she also finished 3rd in the Discus at 66’5”.

Senior Joe Shephard finished first in the triple-jump 38’6” second in the 300m hurdles 51.73, second in the high jump 5’4” and second in the long jump 17’5.5”

Duck Baseball

The Ducks dropped three straight over the weekend to UCLA 2-3, 3-4, 4-5.  They face Ball state next at home on Friday.

Beaver Baseball

The Oregon State Beavers were 1 and 2 over the weekend against Stanford. Friday and Saturday’s games went to extra innings with the Cardinal taking Friday and the Beavs taking Saturday’s game.  The rubber match on Sunday went to Stanford 8-5.  The Beavers play Portland tomorrow.
