AMJ Invite Results; Opening Day for Siuslaw Baseball/Softball

Siuslaw’s men’s and women’s track and field team out paced the competition on Saturday at the AMJ Invite.  Siuslaw men scored 258 points and the women scored 121 points and both finished first among 10 schools that participated.  Hunter Petterson finished first in the 200 and 400 meter races both with personal record times.  Freshman Wesley Nicholls finished in third in the 200 meter and second in the 400 meter.  Senior James smith finished third in the 400.  Junior’s Dezmond Anderson and Noel Hernandez set personal record times in the 100 meter with 3rd and 4th place finishes respectively.  For the ladies Siuslaw took the top three spots in the 800 and the 1500 meter races.  In the 800 senior Rylee Colton took the top spot and sophomore Corduroy Holbrook took the top spot in the 1500 with a personal record time of 5:28.79.  The men took the top spot in the 4×100 and the 4×400 and the ladies took first place in the 4×400.  Junior Sam Ulrich finished in first place in the 1500 and 3000 meter races and Chad Hughes had a personal best in the 800 meter at 2:09.20 followed by sophomore Talan Ross and junior Jacob Blankenship.  Junior Lucian Murphey took first in the 110meter hurdles and senior Camp Lacouture took first in the 300 meter hurdles.

In Field events junior Jonathan Rose finished first in the shot put with a toss of 39’4.75” and was followed by sophomore Cort Waggoner in second with a personal best 39’0.25”   Rose also finished first in the discus at 124’7” followed by senior James Smith with a personal best of 119’3.”   Lacouture also finished first in the Pole Vault at 13’6” and second in the high jump.  He had a third place finish in the long jump and Smith finished 3rd in the triple jump.  For the ladies senior Hayden Muller finished second in the shot put with a personal record toss of 25’ 5.25”  she finished first in the javelin with a personal record toss of 89’8”.  Freshman Macali Lade finished first in the pole vault at 7’ a personal best for her.

Mapleton High School also participated in the AMJ Invite.  Senior Joe Shepard finished first in the triple Jump with 37’ 6.75”  Shepard finished 4th in the long jump at 18’1.75”  Mapleton junior Emily Neece finished first in the Shot Put with a distance of 27’3.25”

Opening Day for Siuslaw Baseball/Softball

Siuslaw Baseball and softball start their season tomorrow against Marist Catholic.  Both games have a 5 pm start.  Viking baseball will be on KCST beginning with a 4:45 pregame.
