The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports Congratulate junior Siuslaw Track and Field Standout Sam Ulrich as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Ulrich had two first place finishes at Saturday’s AMJ Invitational. In the first race, the 1500 meters, he set a season record with a time of 4:16.17 and in the second race Sam had a personal record best of 9:19.0 in the 3000 meter race.
Honorable Mention goes to Siuslaw senior Beau Erickson who pitched 4.2 innings striking out 9 of 16 batters and on offense had 3 hits and an RBI against Creswell last Thursday.
Originally scheduled to play in Eugene, this afternoon’s Siuslaw Baseball games will play at 5 o’clock in Florence. The Lady Viks will take on the Spartan girls at Marist for Softball. The Boys game will air at 4:45 on KCST, with a first pitch set for 5 o’clock from Jigg’s Dodson Field
