Vikings Falter Late
The Siuslaw Vikings seemingly had the game against Elmira under control leading 4-1 after 5 innings but then gave up 5 runs in the top of the 6th. Coach Tom Shinn said the team hit the ball well, but often right at the opposing players. Beau Erickson gets the loss for the Vikings. Final score 6-1 Elmira. Siuslaw travels to Cottage Grove this evening with a game to be broadcast on KCST beginning at 4:45.
Siuslaw softball lost to Elmira 17-4. The Viks are scheduled for a double header against Cottage Grove this evening.
OSU Blanks Pilots
The Number one ranked Oregon State Beavers hosted the Portland Pilots last night in Corvallis. They held the Pilots to just 3 hits on the night and scored 4 runs on 6 hits for a final of 4-0. The Beavers will face a tough Arizona team this weekend. The Wildcats are 33-17 overall and 14-10 in conference play. The regular season finishes off next week with UCLA before the Pac-12 tournament.
Ducks Losing Streak Continues
The Oregon Ducks are on a 6 game losing streak falling to UC San Diego last night in Eugene 3-0 the two teams play again this afternoon at 4. The Ducks will finish up their season with a series against ASU, 1 game against Gonzaga next week and the Arizona next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
