The four day 2022 Nike Outdoor Nationals get underway yesterday at the newly renovated Hayward Field on the University of Oregon Campus. Today’s events begin at 10 this morning, On Sunday, with the Decathlon 110 meter event, several preliminary races, and concludes with the Road To Oregon 22 Men’s 800 at 6:30. Saturday, two Siuslaw athletes will compete in the boys Emerging Elite Division pole vault competition, competition for both Camp Lacouture and Kyle Hughes begins at 2pm. Events during the Nike Outdoor National continue through Sunday.
And a shout out to Siuslaw alum Jake Thompson who was named the General Dynamics Bath Iron Works Player of the Game for the second time this season. The former Viking pitched 1.2 scoreless innings for the Portland Maine Sea Dogs, the win dropped his ERA to 1.0 on the year.
