Eugene Emeralds starting pitcher Mason Black was pummeled in his appearance last night against the Hillsboro Hops. Black pitched 3 and a third innings giving up 8 runs on 9 hits on the Hops way to a victory. The Hops would add 2 more runs for the 10-1 victory. The Ems have three more chances to take the series back beginning tonight. Vancouver continues to stay on the winning track cutting the Ems lead to just a half game in the Northwest League. Spokane is the next closest opponent at 5 and a half games back.
