Rivalry

The Oregon Ducks opportunity to repeat as Pac-12 champions was dashed by the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday.  The game was back and forth but the Beavers went flat early in the third and a controversial call placed the beavers in jeopardy.  Coach Smith on the team’s psyche.

“I did think we were down, I mean let’s face it the momentum and where it was…”

But the beavers fought back after being down by 21

“At the back of our mind though if we could get a score and get the thing back in our direction we had a chance.”

After being down by 21 in the third quarter the Beavers mounted a comeback outscoring the Ducks 28-3 for the 38-34 win.

Weekend Basketball

After a couple of straight losses in the Phil Knight invitational the Ducks rebounded with a win yesterday against Villanova. 4 Ducks were in double figures and out rebounded the Wildcats in the 74-67 win.

Oregon State was on the court last night against Portland State.  it is the second meeting in the month for the two teams and the Beavers didn’t fare any better in this outing. Jordan Pope was the only beaver in double figures with 23 in the 71-83 loss.

Upcoming Schedules

The Ducks and Beavers begin Pac-12 action this week.  The Ducks will face Washington State this Thursday with a 7:30 Pregame on KCST the Beavers will face Washington with a 6:30 pregame on KCFM.
