Mapleton Basketball

The Siletz Valley Warriors led the Mapleton Sailors 20-13 at the half in the boy’s game last night.  The lead increased to 14 points in the third quarter when the Sailor Defense upped the pressure.  The sailors held the Warriors scoreless from the field in the fourth quarter only allowing them 6 free throws.  Mapleton was able to get some easy buckets off of steals and cut the lead.  The sailors outscored the warriors 21-6 in the fourth quarter to take the lead.  Senior Tristan Stewart had a double double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.  Bryan Burnett had 6 steals and junior Keevyn Walker had 12 points.  Sailors won 38-34.

Mapleton Sailor girls also won their game against Siletz 41-8 Helen Burress led the Sailors with 8.

Ducks and Beavers Fall

Colorado stunned the Oregon Ducks in Pac-12 play last night. The Buffaloes held the Ducks to 29% from the floor and they were just one of seven from the three point arc.  Colorado’s Trisdan da Silva scored 30 points in the drubbing, Ducks Will Richardson was held to just 5 points shooting just 1 for 12 with 3 free throws.  Final score 68-41

The Oregon State Beavers also got beat last night.  The Utes scored 79 to the beavers 60.  Tyler Bilodeau and Rodrigue Andela came off the bench for the Beavers accounting for 21 points.  Bilodeau led the Beavers in scoring with 11.

Viking Basketball

The Siuslaw Vikings will play basketball tonight in Sisters.  The Boys will be up first beginning at 5:30 with a 5:15 pregame on KCST.  Girls game will follow at 7.

Viking Wrestling

Viking Wrestlers will be on the mat at 10 am tomorrow at Marshfield
