New Vaccine Research

New research has been released by the Centers for Disease Control on the latest bi-valent COVID-19 vaccines.  In two recent reports the CDC is saying that the new booster shots are proving to be most effective against severe symptoms and provide significant protection against hospitalization especially in people 65 and older.  The report also shows that people that are protected by the bi-valent shots are less likely to test positive for COVID-19.  Paul Cieslak is a senior health advisor with the Oregon Health Authority and he says the reports show that risk for mild or severe COVID-19 is significantly reduced  under the new vaccines.  Cieslak says if you haven’t received the latest vaccine, now is a good time to do so.  Current studies show that there is no need for another booster at this time if you have received the bi-valent version. Locally there are vaccines available at Rite-Aid, Safeway, and at Peace Harbor Medical Center.
