Mapleton Basketball

The Mapleton Sailors boy’s basketball team fell to Mohawk last night in 1A league action. Sophomore Alex Burnett accounted for 8 of the sailor’s 17 points.  The Sailors fall to 6-6 in league play on the season.  They have a non-league game on Saturday against Powers.  The Girls also lost their bid against Mohawk 38-13.

Siuslaw Viking Basketball

Siuslaw will be on the home court this evening hosting La Pine.  The girls will take the court first at 6pm followed by the boys at 7:30.  The pregame on KCST will be at 5:45.

Siuslaw Wrestling

Siuslaw Girls will be on the mat today and tomorrow in Cottage Grove.  Matches begin at 3 today and will start up again tomorrow morning at 10 am.

Desert Too Hot for Ducks and Beavers

The Oregon Ducks were looking for a repeat of their previous match against the Arizona Wildcats.  The Ducks kicked off the scoring with 5 early in the first half but that would be the only lead the Ducks see on the night.  Arizona went on a 17-0 run and stayed out in front the rest of the game despite a strong showing from senior Guard Will Richardson who dropped 22 on the Cats.  Final score 91-76.  The Ducks will head to Tempe to face the ASU Sun Devils on Saturday.  Pregame on KCST is at 6:30.

OSU Beavers also had their troubles against the ASU Sun Devils last night falling 68-57.  There were 6 lead changes in that game with Jordan Pope leading the Beavers with 14.  They head to McKale in Tucson tomorrow to face the Wildcats. Pregame on KCFM is at 6pm.
