Viking Wrestling
The Siuslaw Vikings were on the mat on Saturday for the OSAA 3A special District championships. Three wrestlers took the championship spot in their weight class. Dayne Muller scored 26 points for the Vikings in the 220 pound weight class with 26 points. Mason Buss was also champion in the 195 pound weight class scoring 24 points. Joel Sissel also scored 26 points and won the Championship spot in the 170 pound weight class. Hunter Petterson and Jacob Mann took second place finishes in their weight classes. Those 5 wrestlers will represent Siuslaw in the State Championships in Portland on February 23rd and 24th.
Viking Basketball
The Siuslaw Vikings will finish out their basketball season this evening at home. They will play Pleasant Hill beginning with a pregame on KCST at 5:45. The Girls will be up first followed by the boys at 7:30. Tonight is Senior Night for the Vikings.
Mapleton Basketball
The Mapleton Boys and girls Basketball teams will have the chance to advance in the playoffs with games this afternoon. They will play Crow with he boys up first at 4pm and the girls at 5:30.
College Hoops
The Oregon Ducks lost to UCLA on Saturday 70-63 and will travel to Seattle to play Washington on Wednesday. The Oregon State Beavers defeated USC 61-58 and will head to Pullman to play Washington State on Thursday.
