Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior Siuslaw wrestler Dayne Muller as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Dayne went undefeated in Saturday’s OSAA 3A Special District obtaining the championship in the 220 pound weight class scoring 26 points for the Vikings.
Honorable Mention
Honorable Mention goes to Joel Sissel who also scored 26 points and reached the Championship Round obtaining the title in the 170 pound weight class.
Senior Night
The Siuslaw Vikings celebrated senior night during the final games of the season last night. For the Girls it was Gillian Norton and Mary Jo Fontenot and for the boys it was Odin Smith, Sam Ulrich, Victor Ayala, Dez Anderson and Jimmy Allen. Unfortunately for the Vikings neither team won their contest. The boys had a strong second quarter against the Billies of Pleasant Hill, but lost momentum in the third and fourth quarters losing 78-41. The girls fought tough through the game but were outgunned 52-9.
